Peter B. Edelman is a Professor of Law at Georgetown University Law Center, where he teaches constitutional law and poverty law. He has been Associate Dean of the Law Center, Director of the New York State Division for Youth, and Vice President of the University of Massachusetts. During the first term of President Bill Clinton, Mr. Edelman served as Counselor to Secretary of Health and Human Services Donna Shalala and later as Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation. Previously, he served as a Legislative Assistant to Senator Robert F. Kennedy and has written a book, “Searching for America’s Heart: RFK and the Renewal of Hope.” He is currently Chair of the Board of the National Center for Youth and Chair of the District of Columbia Access to Justice Commission.
