Seema Gajwani – Seema joined the Foundation in 2007 as Program Officer for Criminal and Juvenile Justice and, since 2010, has been mainly responsible for adult criminal justice issues. She previously worked at the Public Defender Service in Washington, DC, where she represented children accused of crimes and adult defendants charged with offenses from misdemeanors to homicides. During her time at the Public Defender Service, she also helped train investigators and new attorneys in the office. Prior to becoming a public defender, Seema interned at the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc., the Juvenile Justice Project of Louisiana and The Defender Association of Seattle.
