Colin Diver is adjunct professor of law at Boston University School of Law, having retired in 2012 from his position as president of Reed College in Portland, Oregon. Previously, he served as dean and professor of law at the University of Pennsylvania Law School and, prior to that, as associate professor and then professor of law at Boston University Law School. In addition to his academic career, Diver has held a number of government posts in Massachusetts, including chairman of the Massachusetts State Ethics Commission, appointed by former Governor Michael Dukakis; Under Secretary of Administration and Finance and Assistant Secretary for Consumer Affairs, during the administration of former Governor Francis Sargent; and Special Counsel to former Boston Mayor Kevin White. He has also served as a trustee of Amherst College and as a member of the American Council on Education’s Commission on Racial and Ethnic Equity. He currently serves as Trustee Emeritus at Reed College, and serves on the board of the Trinity Boston Foundation and the Trinity Church Boston.
