Partner Hosted

Join the Campaign for Youth Justice and Washington D.C.’s Thrive Under 25 Coalition on Wednesday, July 24, at the True Reformer Building for our private viewing of episode four of the Netflix series, “When They See Us”.

The series by writer, producer, and director Ava DuVernay has received international acclaim for chronicling the story of the tragic “Central Park Five” case about five teenage boys of color from Harlem who were wrongly convicted in 1989 and their 25 year fight for justice. Episode four of the series highlights the experience of Korey Wise, the one young man convicted as an adult and his terrible experience in adult prison. Afterwards, we will have a panel discussion about the current relevance of this film and the role we can all play in fighting these types of injustices.

The event is from 4 – 7 p.m.

Please arrive early for a preferred seat. Refreshments will be served.
