The Board of Directors of Public Welfare Foundation approved over $2.6 million in grants, including more than $1.9 million for the Justice Reform program in target jurisdictions and $700K for the Legacy portfolio.

Support for youth justice advocacy and organizing work in Louisiana.
Midwest
Justice Reform – Michigan
Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan – Detroit, MI – ($1,000,000– 2 years)
Support for the Michigan Justice Fund, a pooled fund to support coordinated justice reform efforts in Michigan.
West
Justice Reform – Colorado
Latino Coalition for Community Leadership – Santa Barbara, CA – ($500,000– 2 years)
Support to Latino Coalition for the Transforming Justice Initiative, and to develop the organization’s capacity to highlight the replicability of Colorado’s community reinvestment model.
Legacy
Justice Reform
Juvenile Law Center – Philadelphia, PA – ($415,000– 2 years)
Support to advance litigation, policy reform, and public education to challenge harmful and ineffective youth justice practices and policies.
W. Haywood Burns Institute – Oakland, CA – ($350,000– 2.5 years)
Support to engage practitioners, providers, and community groups to reduce racial disparities in juvenile justice systems.
